Juton L Myers
Juton Myers (she/her) is the Program Coordinator for African and African American Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She advises the AAAS Minor and teaches English Composition. Juton also serves as the Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color Initiative Advisor for the LGBTQ+ Resources Center. A proud first-generation graduate, she holds an M.A. in Creative Writing with a concentration in Fiction, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Wilkes University, and a Bachelor's Degree in English and Liberal Studies.
Juton is currently working on publishing her first novel, Zori's Chance, which explores the experiences of a Black, Queer woman living in the South. She is also pursuing a PhD in Writing and Rhetoric, with research focused on Queer pedagogy at the intersections of race and gender in composition. Outside of her academic and professional work, Juton enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and embracing new adventures.
