Give to WGST
At Women and Gender Studies, Innovation is truly a tradition. Our mission is to educate the George Mason University community about gender issues and issues of concern to women and to be a focal point for scholarship and research. We achieve this important mission through a combination of coursework, programming and providing a safe space on campus.
The Women and Gender Studies program relies on the support and commitment of our campus, community, and alumni. We invite you to join us in our mission efforts by making a financial commitment. Every gift is meaningful and no amount is too small. Alumni and community participation are vitally important to our program and we look forward to staying in touch with you.
We have a special interest in funding two areas:
- The Hattery Family Foundation/Franki P. Rutherford Scholarship Fund: This scholarship, generously supported by the Hattery Family Foundation, will provide one full (or two partial) scholarships for an undergraduate or graduate student(s) who is officially registered with the Women and Gender Studies program. Preference will be given to students who have excellent credentials, a commitment to studying gender issues, and who face barriers to their education.
- Center improvements: The Women and Gender Studies Center, located on the second floor of the Johnson Center building, bridges academic coursework with student development, leadership, and coalition building. Donations to the center can help us build our book and media library for student use, provide support for important gender workshops for students and faculty, and resources for bringing renowned scholars and activists to the university.
