Program Advisor

Reporting to the Assistant Director and Lead Program Adviser, the Women and Gender Studies Program and Center seek to hire a Program Adviser to join our program adviser team. The position is responsible for coordinating our programs such as Take Back the Night, Women's History Month programs, and others. This position is also responsible for a variety of design and video editing tasks and social media promotion and management. Also, this position will have the opportunity to develop new programs.
 
This position will require students to work in person. The position is set at 10 hours per week and evenings and weekend availability will be required for programs.
Qualifications:
  • Some sort of background in social justice through coursework, a student organization, a job, or a volunteer opportunity
  • Solid communication skills both oral and written
  • Preference will be given to first-year, sophomore, and junior students
  • Video editing and design skills are a must

 

Center Mentor 

The Women and Gender Studies Program and Center is seeking a self-motivated, eager, and creative individual for a work-study position in our center. Women and Gender Studies welcomes all undergraduate students from all disciplines but prefers students who aren't graduating in Spring 2023. Note: We would ideally prefer someone who has the availability to work in the afternoons on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday but will consider all schedules and availability. This position would begin Spring 2023.

Reporting to the Assistant Director and Lead Center Mentor, the position is responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff in the Women and Gender Studies Center
  • Facilitate our intersectionality 101 training module
  • Conduct center presentations in classes
  • Answering telephones, making copies, creating flyers, updating social media
  • Coordinate outreach and marketing efforts for the space
  • Other duties as assigned
