LuLu Géza Kelemen (they/them/theirs) is the Assistant Director for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, & Questioning Resources within the office of Diversity, Inclusion & Multicultural Education + LGBTQ Resources, with their primary responsibilities of coordinating the Safe Zone Program, supporting LGBTQ student organizations, coordinating the LGBTQ+ Living Learning Community, and overseeing the execution of signature events like Pride Week. In their role, they also work on projects like an exhaustive Restroom Audit of Mason’s Virginia campuses and an inclusive demographic question committee, as well as working with individual students around identity development. LuLu is also a double-graduate of George Mason University, earning their Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies and minors of Women & Gender Studies with an LGBTQ Focus and African & African American Studies in 2011, and their Master of Arts in Sociology in 2015. LuLu’s thesis focused on the intersections of athletic and gender identity and expression at the university level. During LuLu’s time as a student they were active in Alternative Breaks and the Mason LIFE Program, worked three years as Graduate Assistant in LGBTQ Resources, and played rugby for Mason and Northern Virginia Women’s Rugby Football Club. LuLu is originally from the great state of Vermont, coaches CrossFit in their life outside Mason, and enjoys spending time with their person and dog.
