Geraldine Brooks - Presented by Fairfax County Public Library & Fall for the Book
Sunday, April 16, 2023 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM EDT
Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center
Fairfax County Public Library and Fall for the Book celebrate 25 years of writing with Geraldine Brooks.
Pulitzer prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks is back with Horse, an intricately crafted historical fiction novel that Jane Smiley calls the “best horse book [she’s] ever read.” Based on the true story of a record-breaking racehorse, Brooks braids narratives from 1850 Kentucky, 1994 New York City, and 2019 Washington DC into a sweeping novel about science, obsession, and injustice in America. TIME Magazine says “Horse isn’t just an animal story—it’s a moving narrative about race and art.” Sponsored by the Fairfax County Public Library.
