Beyond the Classroom: Women's Grad School Survival Hour
Brown Bag Lunch Series
Wednesday, September 8, 2010 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM EDT
Women and Gender Studies Center, Johnson Center, Room 240K
During the 2009-2010 school year women comprised the majority of graduate students on George Mason’s campus (60 percent), but they hold only 40 percent of full-time academic faculty positions. Mason is not alone in this trend as women across the U.S. are enrolling more and graduating at higher rates than men at virtually every degree level, yet they aren’t showing up at the same levels within academia. Along with sharing different strategies in addressing these practical problems, this community will also be open as a place to share and receive feedback on works in progress, job talks, and research projects.
Brown bag lunches will be held on following Wednesdays during the Fall 2010 semester:
September 8
September 29
October 13
October 27
November 10
November 17
December 8
