Congo Teach-In - Turning Pain to Power

Raising awareness about the level of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo and recognizing activists working to end the atrocities in this war. This Teach-in will include a short video that will document this violence, followed by a facilitated discussion that traces the history as well as the future for Congolese women and a short presentation by Jeffrey Mantz, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Mason. Mantz hasworked recently in the Congo and will speak to this issue.
