Section Information for Spring 2014

Issues of privilege, oppression and power cannot be located within one social identity, for instance gender. To that end this course takes an intersectional approach to understanding the socio-cultural production of inequalities. This means we will be studying how race, class, sexuality and nationality among many social identities intersect with gender identity to position people in relation to power and privilege.
