WGST Certificate Student Elected As President of Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA)

The week of April 11-15, 2016 marked as voting week for George Mason University undergraduate and graduate students to elect their new student government. Christian Rafael Suero, MA candidate in Sociology as well as Women and Gender Graduate Certificate Student, was declared as President-Elected leading by almost a 13% margin in votes. As President of GAPSA, his role includes serving and attending on the Board of Visitors, The Graduate Council, and a number of other meetings across campus. Christian hopes to improve access and transparency of funding for graduate students, increase the number of professional and academic events, and address issues of inclusion and sexual assault on campus. Congratulations!
