Women and Gender Studies Student Staff Members Wins Student Employee of the Year

Every year Career Services gives an award for the Student Employee of the Year. This year our very own, Jocelyn Martinez, received the award. Please join us in congratulating, Jocelyn! We are all very proud! Jocelyn Martinez is a freshman work study student in our center since November 2015. During her time in our center, she has facilitated and created two new programs, tasks that most student workers do not complete in our center for at least two or three years. Jocelyn created the event "Make Your Own Damn Sandwich" which focuses on intersecting identities and the gender wage gap. We will continue this event in years to come. Jocelyn is also in the process of creating a series of workshops for Good Deeds Day that will discuss intersecting identities with well-being practices. Jocelyn is also always eager to change her schedule, come in early, and stay later in the evenings for programs when she feels we need extra help. She has also attended virtually every program that we have put on in the last five months, despite her not being scheduled to work during many of these programs.
