Last Thursday George Mason welcomed Amy Goodman for the second time since her appearance during Fall for the Book a few years ago. Amy Goodman is a cohost of Democracy Now! and author of The Exception to the Rulers and The Silence Majority . She is known all over the world for her activism and commitment to investigative journalism. The event was co-sponsored by Women and Gender Studies and several other offices who brought in a sizeable crowed of students, faculty, staff and people from around the Fairfax community.
Amy gave a captivating speech about the problems with how the media has responded to war, elections, and climate change within the last several decades and the need to more investigating reporting. After a couple of questions Amy and Denis Moynihan took pictures and signed copies of their book The Silenced Majority.
