Welcome Nancy Xiong!

We would like to welcome our new Program Coordinator, Nancy Xiong, to Women and Gender Studies. Nancy Xiong comes to Women and Genders Studies from Wisconsin. She earned her Master of Arts in Social Justice in Intercultural Relations from SIT Graduate Institute and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently working towards a second masters in Sociology and a certificate in Women and Gender Studies at George Mason University. Her research interest includes: international migration, refugee studies, human trafficking, reproductive justice, international marriage and gender-based violence. Nancy has worked, studied and/or lived in Burma, India, Japan, Laos, Nepal, and Thailand. Nancy is currently a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society,  Alexandria Jaycees, Building Our Future: Hmong Abusive International Marriage and DC Sociological Society. Nancy was part of the graduate student staff from 2012-2013 and we are happy to welcome her back to the center. Please join us in welcoming Nancy "home" again!
