Women and Gender Studies is happy to announce that we are now a proud supporting partner of the organization G.I.R.L. (Girl’s inspired and Ready to Lead). On March 9th, 2013, G.I.R.L. will be holding a Career and Empowerment Conference for middle and high school girls. The event will be held Saturday from 10:00 am to 2p.m. in SUB 2. The featured workshops of this conference focus on: STEM careers, strengthening sisterhood and preventing bullying, examining media’s impact on self-image, setting goals, and a session for parents as well. WGST is elated to be involved with this event as it focuses on several avenues of our mission to encourage and educate our society's population of maturing women.
