Congratulations to Associate Professor Dr. Claudia Cabello Hutt for being invited to speak this year at the International Book Fair in New York City! Dr. Cabello Hutt teaches in Women and Gender Studies and Philosophy. She is the Director of Graduate Programs and the MAIS Concentration Head, Women and Gender Studies.
The New York City International Book Fair (FILNYC) is an initiative of the CUNY Mexican Studies Institute, based at Lehman College, which celebrates and makes Spanish-language literature visible in the United States. The Fair is open to the public, and it brings together writers, publishers, booksellers, librarians, and readers, where Spanish unites communities across countries and generations.
More information on FILNYC can be found here: https://filnyc.org/

In its eighth edition this year, the FILNYC was organized around the theme “Language: the sea that we are”, with four lines of programming (geographies of salt; shores and cities; tides of imagination; thinking of archipelago) that explored language as a shared territory in constant movement. This year, the FILNYC was held from October 21 to 25 at John Jay College in Manhattan. Dr. Cabello Hutt spoke in two panels, one on Gabriela Mistral and the other on contemporary feminisms.
