On March 4th 2025, our program director, Dr. Anu Aneja, gave the keynote address at the Center for Leadership and Intercultural Engagement's Women's History Month event. Dr. Aneja's talk was titled "Becoming woman: transnational lessons from the past for the future."
Dr. Aneja's talk offered an intersectional interrogation of the category of 'woman' based on images of fluid representations of gender in ancient to pre-modern South Asian aesthetic traditions. Established interlinkages between lessons from the past and the contemporary discourse on gender to probe implications for a current understanding of 'becoming woman'.
