The Women and Gender Studies Department teamed up with Fall for the Book to introduce Etaf Rum and her book Evil Eye. The story delves into themes of self-acceptance, breaking generational cycles, and processing grief. Rum explores mother-daughter relationships and cycles of dysfunction and abuse in Evil Eye.
Guests who had attended the event listened carefully to her reading as well as hearing about the process of what it was like writing Evil Eye.
You can check out a copy of Evil Eye in our center, Women and Gender Studies Center Library in JC Room 240K. You can learn more about Etaf and her other writings here!
