Scholar's Lecture back in-person in 2022!

Last Thursday, Women and Gender Studies hosted our annual Scholar’s Lecture for the first time in person since 2019. Dr. Rachel Jones, Associate Professor in Philosophy and Program Faculty for Women and Gender Studies, presented on her paper "Insurgent Care: Transforming the Terms of the Possible with Adriana Cavarero and Saidiya Hartman.” Before her talk, two awards were presented to WGST students for their outstanding scholarship. The first, Suzanne Scott Constantine Award for Academic Excellence in Social Justice and the Arts, was presented to Maggie Stewart. Maggie received this award for her work writing short stories featuring intersex people and their narratives. You can learn more about Maggie and the award here. The second award, the MAIS Outstanding Project award was presented to Melody Kujat for her project on the representation of queer women in media over the past 100 years.
