PROPOSAL SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
We welcome proposals for roundtable presentations/discussions, posters, art installations and workshops. Last year’s conference included slam poetry workshops, art, and poster presentations. Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and community proposals are encouraged. Proposals should include name, affiliation, e-mail address, title, a 250-word abstract, and a 1-2 page CV. Please send all materials by email to gmuwmst@gmail.com by March 24, 2017. Please put "Submission for Conference 2017” in the subject line of your message. Acceptance notifications will be sent via email no later than March 31, 2017.
TOPICS
Potential topics include but are not limited to:
- Representation of identities in media
- Immigration and gender Issues
- Experiences of just politics and communities
- Cultural and artistic interventions
- Crafting just policies, from the local to global
- Methods of change: peaceful protest, disruption, violence
- Issues involving intersectional identities
REGISTRATION
The fee is $10 (cash or check only) for all presenters and attendees. Registrants can pay their fees on-site during check-in time. The conference is open to the public. An evening reception will be held on April 20th, 2017. Lunch will be provided as well as a light breakfast on April 21st, 2017.
RESOURCE FAIR
The resource fair is a great opportunity for campus/community organizations who works in the field of women and gender studies to connect with students, staff and faculty in the field.
