Give to WGST

The Women and Gender Studies (WGST) program and center educates the George Mason University community about gender issues and issues of concern to women, and serves as a focal point for scholarship, research, and coalition building. We fulfill our critical mission through a combination of coursework, programming, and providing a safe space on campus.

The WGST program and center rely on the support and commitment of our allies, community partners, and alumni. We invite you to make a financial contribution in support of our efforts. Each and every gift is meaningful. We currently have four priorities:

  • The Women and Gender Studies Endowed Scholarship, on the basis of academic merit and financial need, awards one full or two partial scholarships to an undergraduate or graduate student who is officially registered in the Women and Gender Studies program or working in the Women and Gender Studies Center.
  • The Women and Gender Studies Fund provides support for the center's upkeep and operating expenses since it serves as a resource for student development, leadership, and coalition building, and also partners with other units to bring renowned scholars and activists to the Mason community.
  • The Suzanne Scott Constantine Award for Excellence provides funding for a promising graduate student whose work in gender, race, and social justice intersects with the visual and/or performing arts.
  • The Goldie Hattery and Diane S. Hattery Award for Excellence provides an annual award to a university staff member who works in facilities, housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial services at George Mason University.
