Dr. Maryam Ahmadian is currently an affiliate faculty member in the department of Women and Gender Studies at George Mason University, Virginia, USA. She accomplished her second Post Doctorate in Women’s Studies and Health for Empowerment at Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran. She completed her first Postdoctoral Fellowship in Community Development and Health Promotion in the faculty of Human Ecology at the University Putra Malaysia. She was a Research Fellow at the Cancer Resource and Education Center, faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University Putra Malaysia. She was also a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Health and Risk Communication at George Mason University. She is a collaborative educator and researcher with vast experience in social sciences, health diversity, research management, and grant writing. Her areas of expertise are: community development, health promotion, public & community health, and women’s studies. Hands-on work history as a clinical midwife and public health specialist.
