Danica Roem: Journalism to Politics

LGBTQ Resources and University Life presents, in honor of both Women's History Month and LGBTQ Pride Week, Danica Roem. We have asked her to join us on the SciTech Campus to talk about her journey to become a politician after a career as a journalist. Free and open to the public, especially Mason students, faculty, and staff who are supportive of LGBTQ+ communities, and/or interested in becoming part of local politics.

Make Your Own Damn Sandwich

"Make Your Own Damn Sandwich" raises awareness about gender inequality through stations where participants learn about gender-based issues such as the wage gap, consent and sexual violence, intersectionality, the gender binary and sexuality spectrum. By the end of the event, the participants will make their own sandwich, challenging the sexist joke that women should "go make me a sandwich" or "go back to the kitchen".
