Section Information for Fall 2022
If you love reading Young Adult (YA) novels, then this is the course for you! We will examine YA novels from the past two decades, considering their literary qualities and cultural significance. The representation of intersectional teen identities -- based on race, gender, sexuality, class, etc. -- will be a main focus of this course. Through close reading and careful analysis, we will identify conventions of 21st-century YA fiction. We will also investigate major issues and debates central to the field of YA literature.
