UG <p>By choosing to pursue work in women and gender studies, students at all levels engage in an interdisciplinary exploration of gender roles in social, political, cultural, and economic life; gender roles in history; women and the media; feminist theory; the relationship between sex and gender; the impact of sex, race, class, disability, and sexual orientation on people's lives; and the ways in which gender stereotypes influence the self in relationship to others. Students in this minor complete 18 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.00, distributed as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Two required courses (6 credits): WMST 200, 330</li> <li>Four courses (12 credits) selected from courses in women and gender studies, courses cross-listed with women and gender studies, or course offerings in other departments approved by the director. No more than 6 credits may be taken in any one department.</li> </ul> <p>In accordance with university policy, at least 8 credits must be applied only to the minor and may not be used to fulfill requirements of the student&rsquo;s major, concentration, or another minor.</p> 2009-11-18T15:33:41Z
