Graduate Work in Women and Gender Studies
Women’s Studies is a field of knowledge about the complex social, economic, political, historical, psychological, and cultural forces that shape women’s lives. Gender is the central analytical device that provides coherence to this interdisciplinary field. Scholars in Women and Gender Studies have pursued their analyses of gender roles, women’s socioeconomic and political status, and cultural notions of femininity with a commitment to greater social justice and equality for women.
Graduate work in Women and Gender Studies is charged with analyzing the personal and collective experiences and actions of women within their local, national, and global contexts.
