Women and Gender Studies Launches the "I'm a Feminist Project"

The "I'm a Feminist Project" was designed as an educational campaign initiative for women's history month and to demystify the image of feminism. The program invited campus administrators, faculty, and students to answer the prompt, "I'm a feminist because..." Through these responses, videos and posters have been generated to promote awareness of the feminist identity.

Angela Hattery Invited Speaker at University of Mary Washington

Angela Hattery, Associate Director of Women and Gender Studies, was invited to speak at the University of Mary Washington as part of the university's Women's History Month programming. Hosted by the university's Women's and Gender Studies program and delivered on March 21, Hattery's lecture focused on the social dynamics of family violence.

Angela Hattery Co-Authors Text on Family Violence

Angela Hattery, Associate Director of Women and Gender Studies, is the co-author of the recently published text The Social Dynamics of Family Violence. A major text, Angela was finishing up after she joined the Women and Gender Studies program in her current position last year. The book is co-written with her long-time collaborator Earl Smith, Professor of Sociology and Director of American Ethnic Studies at Wakeforest University.
