David Powers Corwin is our new program coordinator in Women and Gender Studies. David has been with WGST since November 2013 and has held a variety of roles in both our program and in LGBTQ Resources. Since January 2016, he has been in an interim role in Women and Gender Studies and has now transitioned to the full-time program coordinator.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Humanities from Milligan College. In this program, he focused on short story as a genre, women writers, and women's studies. He is also one of our alumni of our MAIS program with a concentration in Women and Gender Studies. He was the first student at Mason to complete a dual MA/MAIS in Women and Gender Studies and English. In these programs, he focused on masculinity studies, British women writers, and television studies. He is now in his first semester of his PhD in Education with a specialization in Higher Education here at Mason.
David's background in Women and Gender Studies, student affairs programming, and fiscal management make him an excellent fit for this position and we are happy that he is continuing his professional career with us in Women and Gender Studies.
