Meet Our Graduate Professional Assistant: MaryAnn Vega

Women and Gender Studies would like to welcome MaryAnn Vega as our graduate professional assistant (GPA) for the 2016-17 academic year. MaryAnn is a second-year graduate student in the Master’s of Interdisciplinary Arts program with a concentration in Women and Gender Studies. She is a fellow at Futures Without Violence and a member of Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society.

As a GPA, Mary Ann's role and responsibilities will mainly work on initiatives and services related to the University wide “Pledge to End Sexual Violence” campaign as well as assisting in coordinating activities, programs and events to raise awareness of sexual and intimate partner violence on campus. She will also serve all sexual assault and intimate partner violence related committees and task forces to reduce the number of occurences, increase the rate of reporting, address and create sexual prevention and response services on campus.
