WGST and AFAM Hold Open Mic Night for the End of Women's History Month

The Women and Gender Studies and African and African American Studies departments held an open mic night to bring a close to Women’s History Month. The event was held in the Johnson Center Bistro and was well attended by students and faculty. Students, faculty, and staff performed in a multitude of styles including poetry, spoken word, singing, playing instruments, and storytelling.

The departments also organized to bring the performers B. Steady and BOOMscat to George Mason. B. Steady performs both solo and in the queer pop group ‘The Lost Bois’. BOOMscat is a soul/R&B duo that performs often in D.C. Both sets of performers delivered outstanding performances and gave Women’s History Month a remarkable ending.
